The Staff of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church
Rev. Bonnie McCubbin, PastorPastor Bonnie has been serving Good Shepherd UMC since July 2013. She previously served as the Pastor of the Patapsco-Lodge Forest Cooperative Parish United Methodist Church in Dundalk, Maryland; a multi-site ministry in Eastern Baltimore County. Before that, she served as the Pastor of the Deer Creek Charge (Deer Creek and Mt. Tabor UMCs) in Northern Harford County.
In addition to her pastoral duties at Good Shepherd, Pastor Bonnie serves as a volunteer Chaplain for the Baltimore City Police Department; on the Board of the Historical Society for the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the UMC; is a member of The Young Clergy Women's Project; writes curriculum for the West River Summer Camp; volunteers as a summer camp director for a week; sits on the Kingsville, MD Independence Day Parade Committee; and is a Regional Challenge Master for Destination Imagination. Pastor Bonnie has many hobbies and interests, including sewing, drawing, painting, playing piano and handbells, and teaching people about the environment. Her favorite place on earth is West River Center, a United Methodist camp and retreat center located just south of Annapolis. It was here that she accepted her calling to ordained ministry while working on summer staff. In fact, it was in the same gazebo that Pastor Bonnie wed her now husband, Rev. Lemuel Dominguez (who serves as the pastor of Milford Mill United Methodist Church in Milford Mill, Maryland). Together, they have one son. Pastor Bonnie earned a B.A., Magna cum laude, from St. Mary's College of Maryland (St. Mary's City, MD), where she majored in Anthropology and History, and minored in Mathematics. Her focus was on precolonial American history, and Ancient Roman history. She earned an MDiv from Wesley Theological Seminary (Washington, DC), with honors. She was selected as a Lewis Fellow in Cohort 10. Pastor Bonnie has an open door policy and is always willing to meet with you. Please contact her by phone, email, or using the form below. Her life motto is "radical love, radical hospitality." Her favorite Bible verse (well, ok...one of *many*!) is Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. She knows what it is like to be a young adult navigating life on your own, and is always ready to chat or grab some ice cream from the Charmery. |
